3) BASIC INFORMATION AND BASIC TRAINING ON THE ONLINE PLATFORM
In the simplest term, online education can be defined as an educational technology to be used

when the student and the teacher are not in the same environment. According to another

broader definition, online education is a form of teaching in which learners are in different
times and places from the teachers, and the interaction between them takes place through

printed or electronic communication media. Online education and open education are
concepts that are often confused with each other. While online education basically refers to

the separation of students and teachers in terms of time and space, open education is generally

defined as an education system used in higher education and includes pre-organized,
voluntary or compulsory learning processes.

It is stated that information is a leading indicator in creating an information society as the
main driving force of technology, information and communication technologies by delivering

it from educational institutions to homes. Developments in communication technologies have

increased the effectiveness of online education as well as increasing the level of internet
communication in online education. Individuals, organizations and ultimately societies

increase their education-oriented technology orientations as the contribution of investments in

technology to education efficiency is better realized.
