               For tourism and its stakeholders this means that communication is a concept that is far wider

               than just the spoken or written word. It requires an understanding of communication that has
               an  awareness  of  different  cultural  aspects  which  include  gender  roles,  cultural  habits  and

               behaviours, religions, social relations, etc.

               Stakeholders in tourism therefore have to train their staff in tolerance and awareness of this
               diversity and to adjust their communication skills accordingly. Trainings  for cultural diversity

               are  available  in  many  versions  online  as  distance  training  and  aim  to  train  the  user  to
               proactively identify situations that may result in conflict by addressing these situations with

               ways to prevent conflict and miscommunication that arise because of cultural differences.

               Flexibility

               Flexibility is a soft skills that is of paramount importance for all stakeholders in the tourism
               sector.

               It includes several other soft skills which can be defined as:

                o  Adaptability:  Alter  one's  attitude  or  behaviour  to  accommodate  modifications  in  the
                   workplace.

                o  Adhere  company  standards:  Act  and  manage  according  to  the  organisation's  code  of

                   conduct.
                o  Work under pressure: Handle challenges, disruption and change and recover from set-

                   backs and adversity.
