fear is not at all realistic. For example, you may be afraid that if we say “no” to your friend,
for fear of harming your relationship. In the short term, you can avoid such a situation by not
saying “no” to any of your friends. However, constantly living in accordance with the wishes
of others and their priorities can lead us to build up anger towards those people over time, and
in that case, our relationship may deteriorate. However, when we openly express our reasons
for saying “no”, you will see that people will understand.
Underestimation: Sometimes we fall into the misconception that some things are
spontaneous or that some traits are found in everyone. For example, learning to “listen” is
unnecessary because we already know. Someone will come and be friends with us anyway.
Such underestimations often cause problems that negatively affect social and academic
success, and cause us great disappointment. “What might I be underestimating in my daily
life?” An answer to such a question will increase our awareness of this issue and will protect
us from the “underestimation” trap.
Prejudices about Time Management: Some people reject the idea of “time management”
from the very beginning and do not approach it at all. This is due to some misconceptions
about time management. Focusing on these will be helpful in terms of raising awareness about
time management. The most common of these prejudices is as follows: “These techniques do
not work for me”: The fact that these techniques are only a tool and it is up to you to use the
techniques should always be kept in mind. “It is impossible to be organized in this society!”is
another misconception. Keeping in mind that there may not always be perfect conditions for
everything will make our job much easier. Remember that in ideal conditions, anyone can
manage their time. Trying to do the best you can under these conditions, rather than being a
perfect time manager, will be your biggest helper on this path. So the techniques will not
control you, you will control the techniques. Moreover, you do not have to constantly plan
your life with these techniques. For example, holidays are a perfect time to live unplanned and
enjoy it. “People are constantly calling me or asking me for something.” Is still another factor
we give as an excuse to live without time management? We should not forget that it is
impossible to keep ourselves away from all kinds distractions. Learning how to deal with such
situations will be one of the most important steps.
