               Therefore, all countries must increase the skills and knowledge of digitization in companies

               and specifically in SMEs, e.g., 35% of the companies in Austria have no digital skills other

               than basic email correspondence. For this reason, digital competences and skills are also in
               the tourism sector one of the top challenges for all stakeholders, but for smaller companies in

               particular.

               For  all  tourism  businesses  it  is  most  important  that  their  employees  are  prepared  for  the

               digitalisation. Since the pandemic many employees are working from home and digitalisation

               as a whole has grown immensely. Businesses therefore have to ensure the following issues are
               addressed:

                   1.  All  employees  need  to  have  a  good  understanding  of  the  technologies  required  to

                      operate  the  business,  including  digital  office  systems,  websites,  and  social  media
                      platforms.
