Self-assessment is one of the most frequently used types of assessment and a few examples
are:
VETGPS
The VET GPS tool focuses on the acquisition, development and assessment of soft skills of
trainees attending VET training, especially those soft skills that are essential for their personal
development, social participation and workplace success.
The self-assessment tool helps the users to discover their personal strengths and the areas
where they have a need for development or training. For this goal it proved a range of
scenarios and uses a self-rating system for the user to reflect their own soft skills.
MBM
MBM created a simple self-assessments that helps users to understand their individual
strengths and weaknesses by evaluating a list of different specific soft skill. By completing
one, or all of these soft skills audits, the users will know where their strengths lie, and what to
work on.
123 Test
The self-assessment measures the 16 most common and work-related competencies and also
provides the user with development tips for each competence.
Through statements that have to be rated by the users regarding the extent to which they
believe these statements apply to them.
Other tools are for example skills matchers that identify skills and match them to careers that
use those skills or mySkills myFuture to see types of careers a persons’ skills and experiences
will transfer to.
